The Ionian-Salentino C.A.G. – where C.A.G. stands for Coastal Action Group – keeps on sensitising people on balanced diet based on seasonal fresh fish, and, in general, about the virtuous relation with the sea and its products. The third event entitled “Healthy as a fish (horse in AE)”, and scheduled Monday 28, at 5 p.m., at the Aquarium of Salento in Santa Maria al Bagno (Nardò), starts with the opening of the “Info Point C.A.G.” pavilion, where the delegates will distribute the brochures about the activity of the C.A.G. Later a seminar on the importance of consuming fish for a balanced diet will take place together with a workshop about how to preserve sardines in salt.
Representatives of both the Municipality of Nardò and the Ionian-Salentino C.A.G. will greet the participants, while the scientific coordinator of the Aquarium, Professor Genuario Belmonte, will say some words of welcome. A dietician-nutritionist, Mrs Stefania Albano, will talk about the “Nutritional, Organoleptic and Biological Values of the Blue Fish”, while a teacher from the Istituto Alberghiero “N. Moccia” in Nardò, Mr Flavio Valentino, will explain the “Preparation Methods for Cooking the Blue Fish”. Finally, another teacher of the same catering institute, Mr Salvatore Bene, will hold a workshop and a cookery demonstration of how to preserve sardines in salt and vinegar.
Also the students will take part in the workshop.
The project “I love GAC: Great Authentic Cooking” is co-funded by the OP EFF 2007/2013, Axis IV, Measure 4.1 “Sustainable development of fisheries areas”.
