Carried out by the Local Action Group (L.A.G.) Serre Salentine under the auspices of a cooperative project named Penisole d’Italia, this street marketing action aims to promote awareness and consumption of local products from specific areas in the regions of Puglia and Basilicata.
These areas belong to six different L.A.G.s, namely Capo S. Maria di Leuca, Serre Salentine and Terra d’Arneo (in Puglia); Le Macine, Bradanica and Cosvel (in Basilicata), that is 69 towns in total.
Beginning September 11th and continuing till the 13th, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., a Piaggio "Ape" ("Bee" - the three-wheeled commercial vehicle) will drive around Largo La Foppa and Piazza San Babila in Milan. At each stop, a group of actors will tell stories, tales and legends about the products and the territories of six Local Action Groups in the selected areas, beginning with Serre Salentine. In addition, the actors will distribute samples of products, promotional items, and special postcards highlighting the Penisole d’Italia Basket. A special code on these postcards will enable people to download a free collection of authentic local recipes from the selected territories. During the same period the public will also be invited to take part in two photo contests, one on Facebook and one on Instagram. Two winners will each receive a prize - a visit to one of the territories in Puglia or Basilicata.
